Psychotherapy and counselling are based on a relationship between the client and the therapist that is unique. The relationship exists for the client and is centred entirely around the client and their needs. It is an unconditional relationship where there is no judgement, criticism or conditional attachments. A safe place to release thoughts, feelings, problems and processes, both emotional and cognitive.

Counselling usually focuses on the present and helping you overcome what’s causing your distress now. This can be anything from a particularly stressful time at work to a bad breakup or the loss of a loved one. A counsellor can help you overcome a difficult period of your life, boost your self-esteem, or understand what motivates you. Counselling is often referred to as a short-term solution that offers long-term benefits.

Psychotherapy is typically a more in-depth, long-term process that focuses on a person's feelings and past experiences. It can lead to personal growth. Feeling stuck and experiencing negative thoughts are linked to negative emotions - diving a little deeper into your psychology to discover what has been holding you back can be key.

I can help you get back on track by tailoring sessions to your needs.  In the first session, I will take a detailed history and gain a clear understanding of the issues, then we will formulate a healing/personal development plan together.
